DAY 1
Zanzibar – Saadani National Park
Your safari adventure begins in the morning with departure from Zanzibar Airport at 09:40 AM. Board your scheduled flight for a scenic 20-minute journey across the Zanzibar Channel to mainland Tanzania.
Upon arrival in Saadani National Park, you will be met by your guide and transferred to Bab’s Camp, your comfortable safari accommodation situated deep within the wilderness. After settling in, your guide will introduce you to the unique ecosystems surrounding the camp.
Your first experience takes you to the nearby salt flats, where expert guides will teach you how to identify and interpret fresh animal tracks left during the night. Discover how footprints reveal the movements and behaviour of elephants, lions, buffaloes, antelope, and many other species that roam the park.
Continue with an informative camera trap demonstration, where you’ll learn how motion-activated cameras are used by conservationists to monitor wildlife populations and behaviour. Your guide will explain how to position and set camera traps while sharing insights into ongoing conservation efforts within the park.
Lunch is served in the camp’s elevated viewing tower, offering panoramic views over the surrounding bush where wildlife is frequently spotted.
In the late afternoon, set out on your first exciting 4×4 game drive through Saadani National Park. Explore a variety of habitats in search of elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, warthogs, antelope, and numerous other wildlife species before returning to camp at sunset.

DAY 2
Game Drives & Wami River Boat Safari
Start the day with an early morning game drive, when wildlife is generally most active. As the sun rises over the savannah, explore different areas of the park in search of predators returning from their nightly hunts, elephants feeding in the cool morning air, graceful giraffes, buffaloes, antelope, and a remarkable variety of birdlife.
Return to camp for breakfast before heading to the Wami River, one of Saadani National Park’s most important wildlife corridors.
Board a safari boat and enjoy a leisurely cruise along the river, where you’ll encounter large pods of hippos, basking crocodiles, and an abundance of birdlife including kingfishers, African fish eagles, herons, and bee-eaters. Wildlife frequently gathers along the riverbanks to drink, providing outstanding photographic opportunities from a unique perspective.
After the boat safari, return to Bab’s Camp for lunch and some time to relax while taking in the peaceful surroundings.
Later in the afternoon, embark on another rewarding 4×4 game drive, exploring different sections of the park to maximise wildlife sightings. As temperatures cool, animals become increasingly active, offering excellent opportunities to encounter elephants, lions, giraffes, buffaloes, zebras, and numerous plains game species.
Return to camp after sunset for dinner.
During the evening, guides continue monitoring the surrounding wilderness using thermal scopes. Should particularly interesting wildlife approach the camp, guests may be invited to quietly observe these remarkable nocturnal encounters from a safe location.
